Speaker Bio

Randy received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, where he did research in neural networks and machine learning. He joined FamilySearch in 2003, where he helped develop the matching algorithms used in possible duplicates and record hinting for the Family Tree. He is now the Information Architect for FamilySearch. Randy has scanned thousands of slides and old family photos and digitized many movies, and is excited to share some of his learnings..
