Many genealogists use newspapers for just locating obituaries. But newspapers papers contain a variety of information about our ancestors. They appeared in the social articles like weddings or visiting relatives. Articles had facts about trials or divorces. Notices showed past speakers for club meetings or political races. There were pictures on class reunions and unfolding events. This session discusses the differences in newspapers, the assortment of stories within the paper, and the many websites, both fee and free, that contain scanned and indexed newspapers.
