GS1977-F - Kids and the Ties That Bind (F)

Session Description

This class covers fun ways to involve kids in family history without preaching or boring them to death. Subjects covered are journaling with prompts to encourage thinking processes, heritage coloring books highlighting family lore, family story books of the adventures of your ancestors, making and playing old fashioned games and toys that your ancestors used, storytelling at family gatherings, puzzles using family names and places, family recipes and traditions, and letter writing to distant relatives. Use your own family traditions and stories to create binding ties between generations by including kids in storytelling, preparing family feasts with family recipes, acting out events in our ancestor’s lives, and having birthday parties for dead relatives and highlighting their lives. Learn how to do all these and much more in this class.
