In this class we will be talking about how to empower the next generation to combine the topics they are passionate about with the tools and technology they love to make family history. The audience will walk away with several fun and easy projects, lesson plans, and activities that youth can use to do family history. We will talk about the ethical responsibilities youth should consider when documenting family stories, ways they can share their projects, and how they can use their personal interests to connect in a unique way to their heritage. The presenters are film teachers and filmmakers who have traveled the nation speaking to youth groups and their leaders about how to make family history fun and accessible using media tools. Come see last year’s highest ranked Rootstech class as we share new content and activities, lessons learned, and experiences from working with youth from around the country.
